World Congress of Chiropractic Students (WCCS)

Represented by our student Ashley Elizondo, and Brian Miller, one of our graduates, McTimoney College took part in the AGM of the World Congress of Chiropractic Students (WCCS) which took place in Quebec, Canada at Trois-Rivières University.

Brian was a previous President of WCCS and Ashley has been elected as European Regional Coordinator.  Students involved at this level are often the leaders of the profession of the future, so it is a great opportunity to gain a strong understanding of the issues through learning and debating with international student colleagues.

Interdisciplinary Summer School

Pre-clinic students and clinical interns from both Oxford and Manchester campuses recently attended the second summer school in Northern Ireland with our partner, the University of Ulster.

Just as in 2022, this was a great opportunity for our students to engage with interdisciplinary learning across a wide range of healthcare disciplines and helped them embed how important it is to explore other health approaches that may help their patients.  In between learning opportunities, the summer school allows students from across the College to socialise together, but above all else, it puts person-centred care at the front and centre of learning.

McTimoney comes to Spain!

The McTimoney College of Chiropractic is delighted to announce that it has opened a new campus in central Madrid, delivering our well-established and validated full time Master of Chiropractic (MChiro) programme from our new European base. We are very excited about this amazing opportunity to expand chiropractic in Spain as a tangible way of celebrating our 50th year of operation.

Our recruitment of students is in full swing. If you are interested in learning more and enrolling to become a Chiropractor, please visit our Spanish Website or contact us at or +34 639 81 31 63.

In early May, students and graduates of the McTimoney College met up with 500 other chiropractors, students and CAs at Chiro Europe.  The event, held in the relaxing environment on the beach in Fuengirola, Spain, was a great opportunity for the rich international chiropractic community to get together in person, with representation from across Europe, Scandinavia, America and New Zealand.

Congratulations to our 2023 Graduates!

Graduation is always a bittersweet occasion as we are so happy to see our students achieve their dreams and at the same time so sorry to see them move on.

Graduates, along with their friends, family and staff from across the College enjoyed the day in the beautiful setting of the Oxford Union.  As always, it was a great occasion to celebrate their successes and to congratulate them all, particularly recognising the fact that these students  met incredible challenges in completing their studies during unprecedented times.

McTimoney opens in Hong Kong

In an exciting new development for the College, we are delighted to announce that we will be opening in Hong Kong from September 2023.

For many years we have attracted high quality students from Hong Kong to train in the UK, and this is the perfect opportunity to start to deliver our programme in country, delivering our full-time four-year MChiro programme.  Working with our local partners, we will provide the highest quality of academic and clinical teaching in custom facilities located on Nathan Road, the main thoroughfare through central Hong Kong.

The announcement comes following a complex two year process to achieve recognition by the Hong Kong Education Bureau as a nonlocal provider.  For Hong Kong, this is also ground-breaking news as we are the first chiropractic institution to be accredited in this way.

Chiropractic in Hong Kong has grown strongly in recent years as it is a recognised profession through the Hong Kong Chiropractic Council.  The opening of its own College will no doubt be a springboard for future growth and we are very proud to play such an integral part in the development of chiropractic in Hong Kong.

Ulster University visit Madrid

As part of our ongoing strong relationship with Ulster University, we hosted a visit to our Madrid campus by Professor Aine McKillop, Associate Dean of Quality Assurance and Student Experience and Jerome Marley, Faculty Partnership Manager.  Our visitors were very impressed with both the academic provision and the resources of the new campus.  Most importantly, they were highly complimentary about our students.

We are immensely proud of all of our students, wherever they are studying, and it is very pleasing that wherever our students and graduates are in the world, their commitment, engagement and attainment is recognised.  This is just one of the ways that we are sure we are graduating quality chiropractors of the future!

European Regional meeting of the World Congress of Chiropractic Students (WCCS)

The McTimoney College of Chiropractic was pleased to host the WCCS at its campus in Madrid last week.  After the business of the day, students listened to some interesting talks by leaders in the field and were able to enjoy some of the local hospitality.

This provided the perfect opportunity for students studying at different Colleges across Europe to meet and share their experiences.  Importantly, it was also the first time that students from all three McTimoney campuses – Oxford, Manchester and Madrid – were able to meet up as a collective.

It seemed apt that the meeting took place on St Patrick’s Day as the College’s programmes are validated by Ulster University.  Staff and students alike had fun in the sunny Spanish capital and were able to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn from leaders and each other and to make new friends in the chiropractic world.
