CPD & Continuing Education

After Graduation, chiropractors must complete annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements in order to maintain their registration with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC).  They may also choose to pursue their particular interests by completing postgraduate Masters level programmes. The College offers programmes in Chiropractic Paediatrics and Chiropractic for Animals.

Current requirements are that all Chiropractors must complete 30 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) between September and August each year.

Introducing our “Better Practice Through……” Series of Seminars:

 

  …………*NEW*……Food for Performance & Fitness /  Feeding Stress – Saturday 26 October – Speaker:  Gaye Godkin       

This seminar is split into two topics:

1. Food for Performance & Fitness will focus on healthy eating to sustain those who want to remain fit.  A variety of topics are covered, including:

Food choices to sustain constant supply of energy / Food groups / Unhealthy foods / How to improve your food choices / The role of supplements etc.

2. Feeding Stress explores the psychology of eating – nourishing, gaining wisdom about our relationship with food, the slow-down diet. So what is the psychology of an eater? What does our relationship with the food environment have?  A wide variety of topics are covered, including:

What is stress? / What are my triggers? / How do I respond? / Where does my stress manifest in my body? / What are the physiological effects of stress?

The how, when and why – not just the Epley manoeuvre!

This course is practical in nature, evidence based and fully referenced. A mix of theory lectures and practical sessions make up the 7 hours of contact time.
Participants completing this course will gain a greater understanding of the anatomy, biomechanics, assessment and evidence-based treatment of this interesting and complicated subject.
